Offering this 10 week class in our ceramics studios! This class is available for advanced students that have taken at least four ceramics classes at CMA or have received instructor approval to take the class. Form, surface design, glazing, and firing will be explored in greater depth during this class. Advanced students who have taken five or more CMA ceramics classes or working at a level determined to be advanced by the instructor will be required to do their own firing in cooperation with the Canton Ceramic Artists Guild to deepen their understanding of the process.

*Students may also purchase a clay tool kit ($15.00) from the CMA.

Advanced ceramics students are now eligible for independent study at CMA! This option is available for a limited number of students that have taken at least three ceramics classes at CMA. Your registration fee provides access to the studio during all open studio hours, a locker for storage, access to studio tools and equipment, and a professional teaching artist mentor available to get you set up and answer any questions you may have through email. Studio hours run for 10 weeks (Minus adjusted studio hours due to the museum closures) from 4/7/24 - 6/16/24 which coincides with our ceramics class schedule. Students with ceramics experience outside of CMA are not eligible for registration as students will need a strong working knowledge of CMA studio safety and procedures.

Offering this NEW one-time workshop at CMA! Create this unique birdhouse plant stake made entirely of fused glass. This durable glass is weatherproof, suitable for inside or outside. The stake including birdhouse is 11" tall, perfect to brighten
up any planter. No glass cutting is required. Our experienced instructor, Amy Pepperney, will guide you through the fundamentals of glass fusing and various forming techniques to help you create a truly unique piece. All skill levels welcome. Finished work will be fired and ready for pick up in 2 weeks. Students will be emailed when ready.

Immerse yourself in the artistry of ceramics as you learn essential techniques for shaping, molding, and decorating clay to bring your fairy door to life. Drawing inspiration from folklore and fantasy in the exhibition, "Beyond Worlds: Paintings by Laine Bachman," infuse your creation with whimsy and charm. All skill levels welcome. Students will need to make arrangements to pick up fired pieces three-six weeks after workshop and will be emailed when ready.
