Students will discover how artist, Matthew Christopher, captures the mesmerizing beauty and lost history of the various derelict buildings. His artwork advocates for rehabilitation and reuse by emphasizing the cultural importance of preservation. Through creativity, students will repurpose and upcycle "abandoned" materials to create beautiful 2D and 3D artworks utilizing unique and sometimes unconventional items to create something new!

Visit the galleries to see famous ceramic pieces first hand, tour the ceramics lab and learn the process that clay goes through from beginning to end. Create functional, decorative, and sculptural pieces to cherish always. You and your child will be immersed in multisensory art making activity stations for toddlers and adults to enjoy together. Have fun learning and playing together while helping your little artist get started in the world of art. In this tactile, squishy and slimy workshop, students will get their hands messy with a variety of art materials from workable dough to ooey gooey slime!ÿ

Now offering this NEW one-time workshop in-person! Enjoy a short lecture with Bert Nero, an Ikebana (The Art of Japanese Flower Arranging) practitioner, who will speak on her experiences and the history of Ikebana. Then create a vase inspired by these beautiful arrangements. Students will use basic hand building techniques to make a ceramic container suitable for displaying their own Ikebana inspired flower arrangement. All skill levels welcome
