Visit the exhibit, "POP!" and see some of the original comic strip inspired artwork that started it all, created by artist Roy Lichtenstein himself. Use neon Model Magic (air dry clay), to create these unique signs using your own onomatopoeia (words that imitate natural sounds) word.

See the artwork on display and create you own unique neon sign sculpture of your own design limited only by your imagination. Students will learn wire bending techniques and utilize the exciting medium of El Wire that lights up and glows! All skill levels welcome.

Now offering this NEW one-time workshop in-person! What's your superpower? Gather inspiration from the superheroes in the exhibit, "Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross." Alex Ross is considered one of the greatest artists in the field of comic books of our time! Then participate in a fun brainstorming activity to discover what your real-life superpower is. Get hands-on and design and decorate your own unique superhero cape using an upcycled t-shirt and variety of art materials including fabric markers, fabric paint, and embellishments.

See the artwork for yourself and then create a unique four panel Pop Art inspired artwork using your own photo! About a week before the workshop, students will be sent an email asking for a photo that you would like to use of yourself, friend, family member, or even your pet! Then our talented teaching artist will make photo copy prints on a variety of colored paper and provide all the materials you need to make a masterpiece ready to frame!
