In this class, you will learn how to design, cut, and assemble your very own fused glass piece perfect for gift giving. You'll also observe other methods to create unique pieces without having to cut any glass. Finished work will be fired and ready for pick up 2-3 weeks. Students will be emailed when ready. Our experienced instructor, Amy Pepperney, will guide you through the fundamentals of glass fusing and various forming techniques to help you create a truly unique piece/s that are perfect for gifting or wearing with pride! Each student will receive a variety glass, and silver wire to work with, allowing you to create one large pendant or two medium-sized pendants.
Offering this 6-week course in person! Throughout this class, learn different techniques to design, cut, and assemble glass and how to use the kiln to fuse and slump your creations. In this session, we will focus on shaping and inserting different metals including silver, copper, and nichrome into your glass to make jewelry, glass panels, and small plates to name a few projects. Offering this 12 week class in our ceramics studios! This class is available for advanced students that have taken at least four ceramics classes at CMA or have received instructor approval to take the class. Form, surface design, glazing, and firing will be explored in greater depth during this class. Advanced students who have taken five or more CMA ceramics classes or working at a level determined to be advanced by the instructor will be required to do their own firing in cooperation with the Canton Ceramic Artists Guild to deepen their understanding of the process.
