Hang out with friends in this fun 6-week acrylic painting course, designed for a relaxed, social atmosphere and step-by-step, easy instructions! Students will enjoy replicating masterpieces from the Canton Museum of Art's permanent collection while developing their own signature mark-making and personal style. Each week, a new artwork will be featured, guiding students through color mixing, brushwork, and composition inspired by the museum's diverse range of styles and subjects. All materials provided, all skill levels are welcome.
In this introductory wheel throwing class, beginners will learn the basic techniques of wheel throwing and surface design. With the support of demonstrations and constructive feedback from the instructor, students will focus on building a strong studio routine, developing hand coordination, understanding clay consistency, and gaining confidence through guided practice. This class is a precursor to a more advanced wheel throwing class.

This class covers both needle and wet felting techniques, an enjoyable and simple art form that anyone can do! You'll have the chance to create an awesome bat with movable wings or a festive centerpiece featuring pumpkins and gourds. We'll also explore the history and science behind felting. Beginners are totally welcome, and all materials are provided!

Master the pottery wheel in this 10-week immersive ceramics course. Learn fundamental hand-building techniques before transitioning to the wheel for the fabrication and construction of functional pottery items like bowls, cups, mugs, and vases. This class focuses on practical application and creative expression for everyday use.

NEW QiGong for Health and Relaxation | 1:30-2:30 pm | Sunday May 25
QiGong ("energy work") is rooted in an ancient Chinese practice that promotes health and relaxation through slow, meditative movements to gather, circulate and store Qi (life energy). Exercises are performed standing, and no experience is necessary. All experience levels are welcome.

Find your flow while surrounded by art. Yoga in select Museum spaces is led by Michael Curtis, owner of The Yoga Place and Yoga Central Ohio. Instruction includes basic yoga poses that emphasize the synergy between one’s personal energy space and the space occupied by art and ideas. Participants provide their own yoga mats. All experience levels are welcome.
