This digital photography course teaches students to move beyond auto mode and take well-composed images that reflect their personal vision. Topics include camera operation, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, lighting and composition. *Please bring a digital camera with a manual mode and a card reader. Visual Journaling: in this relaxing workshop students combine expressive words and art to record emotions, insights, and important events in a personal journal to be used as a treasured record of one’s life journey. An assortment of mixed media art materials will be provided as well as guided imagery to awaken memories and generate ideas. No drawing or painting experience is required. Create a magical accent for your outdoor space with a whimsical butterfly sculpture! Students learn how to bend wire and string vibrant, translucent glass beads to craft a unique garden decoration. Anchored to a natural rock, your butterfly will shimmer and glow as sunlight passes through the beads, allowing you to easily place this enchanting piece anywhere in your garden. Inspired by natural crevice gardens, this workshop is designed to guide students in constructing a rock tower that narrows gracefully toward the top. You’ll tuck in live rosette, and trailing succulents, adding moss for softness, and finishing with small stones for natural detail. New to fused glass? Learn the basics of glass fusing and create a unique work of glass art to display in a window or on a shelf. This class is appropriate for all skill levels, including beginners. Students will learn how to design, cut and break glass, including techniques that do not require any glass cutting. Finished pieces are kiln fired and available for pick-up within 1-2 weeks. Create a unique piece of fused glass to add spark to your garden and capture the sunlight. Students learn various cutting techniques or work with precut glass. Once pieces are kiln fired, this durable glass art is ready to hang and can withstand all weather conditions. Explore a range of glass fusing techniques and create a glass portrait of your pet. Students are required to email a photograph of their pet to the instructor prior to the workshop, allowing the instructor to purchase the necessary glass colors and resize the photo to fit the glass canvas.
