Now offering this NEW one-time workshop in-person! This special workshop is designed for one adult and one child (ages 6-9) to do together! If worn-out toys could talk, they would tell some terrific stories. Learn about the imaginative still life paintings of artist Robert Coleman Jackson on display in our galleries and bring toys to life by placing them in arranged settings that are usually designed for people doing people-related activities. Start creating a legacy together by setting aside time for art-making-in-the-moment.

If you're a fan of Minecraft, you already understand the concept of No Gravity ghost blocks and if you're into Fortnite, you get the seriousness of designing a sturdy structure, but this type of building strategy involves floating ink, buildings suspended in time, and miniature architectural materials (did someone say End Stone bricks?).

Silver Spoon Ring Workshop

Spoons will be provided or feel to bring you own heirloom pieces (Malleable silver or silver plated is preferred, no thick steel and stainless steel). Discover traditional metalsmithing techniques of sawing, hammering, and polishing. All skill levels welcome!

*If you bring your own pieces, please bring two spoons you don't mind ruining just in case the first attempt does not come out as desired.

Light Illusion Photography Workshop

Learn a variety of tricks and techniques utilizing light and reflections to create unique optical illusions! Play with glass, mirrors, prisms and more! Delve into the settings on your camera and shoot in modes other than Auto. Both on site and off site photography will take place (weather permitting) within walking distance of the museum. New and experienced photographers are welcome.
