Offering this one-time workshop in-person! Enjoy a night creating your own spoon ring from silverware. Spoons will be provided or feel to bring you own heirloom pieces (Malleable silver or silver plated is preferred, no thick steel and stainless steel). Discover traditional metalsmithing techniques of sawing, hammering, and polishing. All skill levels welcome!
*Cost includes all supplies. *If you bring your own pieces, please bring two spoons you don't mind ruining just in case the first attempt does not come out as desired.
Offering this NEW 4 week class in our ceramics studios! This class is available for experienced students that have taken at least one ceramics class with a solid working knowledge of throwing, hand building, trimming, carving, and faceting. In Japan the words Neriage (Nair-ee-ah-gee) and Nerikomi (nair-ee-kO-me) refer to different ways colored clays are used. Neriage is the act of mixing at least two colored clay bodies together, which will create swirling and spiraling patterns when thrown on the wheel.

Delve into how artists create meaning through rendering objects and discover the historical significance of why the still life has been the most popular subject matter of all time! Explore deeper elements of composition, master copies, developing an image over time, sighting/measurement, drawing from life, and more. Master the buttons and dials on your camera and shoot in modes other than Auto. This course introduces participants to the creative and technical possibilities of digital photography. Some off site subject mater near the museum and within walking distance downtown will be used for class projects and inspiration including visiting a professional photography studio!
