Explore the unique process of printmaking like never before! Monoprinting is printmaking that creates images that are only made once, unlike most printmaking, which allows for multiple originals. Students will use printing plates to create original artworks inspired by the prints on display by Yuko Kimura. Through this fun and hands on class students will visit the galleries for inspiration and create a series of layered prints ready to frame!

Learn about her work and visit the galleries to see the small but mighty pieces, then go back to the classroom where each guest will work together and also create their own miniature watercolor paintings that will turn into a festive card or cards celebrating your favorite holiday or just because!

In conjunction with the Art for Health & Healing Program, the Canton Museum of Art welcomes you to a special mindfulness art series that focuses on slowing down, relieving stress, and learning to use creativity to increase awareness of self and be present in the moment. Join our registered art therapist, Amy Hope, as she directs you through building upon your understanding from the first alcohol ink workshop (preferred but not required).
