Instructor: Mallory McCrea

Offering this 6-week course in person! Learn to see like a photographer and go from taking snapshots to purposeful, well-composed images that reflect your personal vision. Master the buttons and dials on your camera and shoot in modes other than Auto. This course introduces participants to the creative and technical possibilities of digital photography. Some off-site subject matter near the museum and within walking distance downtown will be used for class projects and inspiration including visiting a professional photography studio! Topics include camera operation, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, lighting, and composition. New and experienced photographers are welcome. Taken the class before? Mallory works with each individual student to see them grow, sign up for multiple classes!

*Please bring a digital camera that has a manual mode, DSLR, mirrorless, or some point-and-shoots and a card reader.

Offering this NEW one-time workshop at CMA! Capture the essence of the city as we explore the urban landscape through the lens of a camera. Experienced instructor and professional photographer, Malory McCrea, will guide you through the essential techniques and skills for successful urban photography. Visit some of the most iconic and lesser-known locations in Canton. Whether you're looking to expand your photography skills or simply want to explore the beauty of the city, this workshop is for you. Delve into the settings on your camera and shoot in modes other than Auto. Off-site photography will take place (weather permitting) within walking distance of the museum. New and experienced photographers are welcome.
