Artistic maturity takes time and developing what Walt Disney called, “imagineering” within the gently guided boundaries of a teaching artist is what these workshops are all about. Once young students begin to trust the process of transforming their ideas into something tangible, they can gradually be introduced to new raw materials and techniques, and navigate their own creative journey. If your young artist has an hour or so to spare, recharge and reset at the museum!
Find your flow surrounded by the calming nighttime imagery of Night Visions: Nocturnes in American Art from the CMA Collection. Yoga in the Galleries is led by Michael Curtis, owner of The Yoga Place and Yoga Central Ohio. This one-time offering includes basic yoga poses that emphasize the synergy between ones personal energy space and the space occupied by art and ideas. Participants provide their own yoga mats.
Offering this NEW one-time workshop at CMA! Choose to create a holiday candleholder to light up your night or make an ornament to decorate your tree. Many design choices are available. Learn to design and assemble a fused glass piece with transparent glass. Our experienced instructor, Amy Pepperney, will guide you through the fundamentals of glass fusing and various forming techniques to help you create a truly unique piece. No glass cutting is required. All skill levels are welcome. Finished work will be fired and ready for pick up in 2 weeks. Students will be emailed when ready.
