The Canton Museum of Art has a new Raku Kiln courtesy of the Canton Ceramics Artists Guild! Learn the fundamentals of Raku firing which is a different firing technique than that of a regular kiln. This process is done outdoors, using a gas kiln. This exciting firing technique involves pulling red hot ceramic ware out of a kiln and placing the ware into a container with combustible materials. During this two-step workshop, students will discuss the process and create their clay pieces on day one and then fire on day two. Students may make and fire up to 3 works.
