Working with clay allows young students to develop creativity and resilience, as they learn from mistakes and transform ideas into reality. Students will learn the basic foundation skills for working with clay including wedging, creating a pinch pot, building with coils, and slab plaques.

By exploring new approaches to using flat materials, 2-D design is a stepping stone to understanding how to build 3-D sculpture and assemblage.

This class will teach you about common issues that can affect your houseplants. You'll learn about air and water pollution in your home and how it can impact your plants. You'll also learn about fertilizer, light requirements (including low light and bright light plants), pests, repotting, plant triage, and soil types.
Learn how to maintain your own miniature ecosystem with a Terrarium Workshop hosted by Canton’s own Glass Garden. Participants will receive a glass container, rocks, soil, miniature plants, and instructions. The workshop will cover the history of terrariums, setup and planting techniques, proper watering, light, and temperature/humidity requirements.
