Formed in 1992 by Tanya Harroff and Rachel Schneider, the Volunteer Angels is an organization of women who are passionate supporters of art and the Canton Museum of Art—inspired by the Museum's dedication to make art accessible to all through exhibits and programs that foster creative discovery and learning, and connect art to life throughout our community and region.

Each year, membership contributions from renewing and new Volunteer Angels support the artistic excellence and program development of our Museum, while also honoring the numerous Museum volunteers who invest thousands of hours staffing exhibition openings, special events, and education programs. The Angels are committed to being strong ambassadors of the Museum, celebrating its work in strengthening and sustaining our community and introducing its programs to a wider audience.

Membership in the Volunteer Angels is at Platinum, Gold, or Silver levels. Beyond the membership contribution, the Angels meet once a year for a catered luncheon at a notable home in the Canton community, where they learn how their generosity contributed to engage thousands of people with art experiences during the year. Angels are also made Gallery Circle Museum Members , honored on the Angel plaque in the Museum lobby, and they receive invitations to exclusive pre-exhibit openings with the director, artists, and special guests.

In the last 28 years, the Volunteer Angels have contributed more than $800,000 to the Museum. Their generous donations provide unrestricted operating funds for a variety of Museum programs, from exhibitions to education outreach and special events. The Volunteer Angels are essential to CMA's continued excellence.
