Add a bit of vintage flair to your walls with this retro art project! Inspired by the exhibit Arden Riddle: Master of Mid-Century Design. Create the pair of these gravel art inspired wall art pieces from start to finish that will give any room a modern mid-century flair.
Learn beautiful French Cartonnage techniques as you build a 4x4x4" desk caddy and cover it with your choice of provided book cloth and papers. Ooh-la-la! Techniques are simple enough for beginners, yet interesting enough for those more familiar with paper arts.
In this book making class, students will use book board, book cloth and decorative papers to construct a beautiful hard cover journal with pages that you add and remove. Students will leave class with a finished journal measuring 9" tall x 6" wide x 1.75" thick, with basic instructions to repeat the project at home!
You will use white porcelain clay and basic hand building techniques to make a beautiful ceramic luminary. Decorate it with stars, hearts, flowers or whatever shapes you prefer. Receive a free LED tea light to illuminate your creation when you pick up your fired piece! All experience levels are welcome.
*Students will need to make arrangements to pick up fired pieces two weeks after workshop.
