Using Michelle Wentling’s fiber art exhibit as inspiration, students will learn the basics of hand weaving and sewing to create a small woven crossbody bag-perfect for your phone or other easily lost belongings!

This parent-child art class uses nontraditional art materials to explore faces and emotions. Students will examine portraits in the galleries and then use mirrors in the studio to create their own artwork.

This class explores the exciting process of creating sculptures from discarded or overlooked objects.  Through individual and collaborative projects, you'll experiment with a variety of techniques and materials, repurposing and combining items in unexpected ways. Develop your creative problem-solving skills and breathe new life into forgotten objects.

Working with clay allows young students to develop creativity and resilience, as they learn from mistakes and transform ideas into reality. Students will learn the basic foundation skills for working with clay including wedging, creating a pinch pot, building with coils, and slab plaques.

Paper, collage, paint, string, glue…this class helps students develop an appreciation for using materials that appear flat but can be transformed into 2D creations. By exploring new approaches to using flat materials, 2-D design is a stepping stone to understanding how to build 3-D sculpture and assemblage.

This parent-child art class fosters confidence and self-esteem through drawing, painting, and sculpture. The class builds fine motor skills and introduces children to art language and diverse perspectives. 

Early art-making experiences help develop self-expression, problem-solving, and social skills in young children. Multisensory play with colors and shapes, texture, balance, and scale is at the core of this child-directed exploration. Please dress for unexpected paint splatters.

Learn about traditional loom techniques, pattern-making and color rhythm, balance, and finishing – through an easy approach that builds confidence with the hands. Inspired by Michelle Wentling’s fiber art exhibit, participants will design a tapestry pattern, learn basic tapestry weaving, and build a simple wooden loom to continue their practice at home.

Transform your energy into art! Explore the galleries and then head to the studio to create your own sensory interpretations using techniques like floating ink, puffy paint, gelatin prints, and metallic slime.
