Offering this 2-day workshop at CMA with instructor Sarah DeBaun! Discover the unique art of Raku firing in this hands-on workshop! Unlike traditional kiln firing, Raku is a distinctive technique performed outdoors using a gas kiln including pulling red hot ceramic ware out of a kiln and placing the ware into a container with combustible materials. During this two-step workshop, students will discuss the process and create their clay pieces on day one and then fire on day two. Students may make and fire up to 3 pieces. Some clay experience is required.

*Cost includes all supplies: $30 worth of materials and firing costs included.
*Meeting times are 10:30 am-2:30 pm on 9/7/24 and 10:30 am-4:30 pm on 9/21/24.
*Inclement weather makeup day scheduled for 9/28/24.
