NEW! Ceramic Handles Workshop with Ben Myers | 2–4:30p | Sunday, September 13
Join local ceramics artist and educator Ben Myers for an intensive handle-making workshop designed to elevate your pottery form and function. A great handle serves as a vital link between a vessel's purpose and its user, balancing structural strength with aesthetic comfort. Through easy-to-follow demonstrations and hands-on guidance, you will explore how curve, weight, and placement can transform any object into an ergonomic piece. Perfect classic pulled handles or experiment with innovative new attachments, gaining the technical skills to ensure your pottery is as functional as it is beautiful.
The workshop registration fee covers all necessary supplies and studio time. To ensure a productive learning experience, we provide each student with the following items:
-
Ample clay to practice various techniques, including extruding or pulling multiple test handles and attaching a handle to a demo mug.
-
One demo mug per registered student (or you may bring your own pre-made mug at the leather-hard stage).
-
Kiln services, as approved completed pieces can be bisque-fired and glazed at a later date.
