NEW! Ceramic Handles Workshop with Ben Myers | 2–4:30p | Sunday, September 13

Join local ceramics artist and educator Ben Myers for an intensive handle-making workshop designed to elevate your pottery form and function. A great handle serves as a vital link between a vessel's purpose and its user, balancing structural strength with aesthetic comfort. Through easy-to-follow demonstrations and hands-on guidance, you will explore how curve, weight, and placement can transform any object into an ergonomic piece. Perfect classic pulled handles or experiment with innovative new attachments, gaining the technical skills to ensure your pottery is as functional as it is beautiful.

The workshop fee includes 3 lbs of clay, giving students ample material to practice extruding or pulling multiple test handles, learn from mistakes, and attach a handle to a demo piece or pre-made mug. Although the class focuses on practice and education, approved completed pieces can be bisque-fired and glazed at a later date. Ages 16+
