Stark County High School Art Exhibition

March 25 - April 17, 2011

The Canton Museum of Art, joined by Kent State University Stark, Malone University and Walsh University, continue their commitment to the development of fine artists in Stark County by presenting the annual Stark County High School Art Exhibition. The exhibit runs from March 25 through April 17, 2011.  Admission is FREE.

The exhibit features original two- and three-dimensional works by students from 18 Stark County high schools. All pieces presented are original works created as part of their school curriculums and chosen by the school’s art instructor. Each school is limited to a total of ten entries with no more than two entries per artist. Student works are judged on the basis of both originality and technical ability. This year’s judges represent the participating educational institutions.

The awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 29th,  at a reception scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Awards will be presented at 6:00 pm and light refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend.  College scholoarship awards for the First, Second and Third Place recognition  are $1000, $600 and $400.  Honorable mention awards will also be presented, with each winner receiving a scholarship for classes at the Museum of Art.

This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring artists to have their work exhibited in an art museum gallery.
